Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 23: BYJU’S, one of the leading Ed-Tech companies, orchestrated a heartwarming celebration of International Sign Language Day in collaboration with the students of Dr. MGR Home and Higher Secondary School for the Speech and Hearing Impaired on 11th September 2023. This event was a heartfelt tribute to the rich culture and significance of sign language for the deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

The event took place at Dr. MGR Home and Higher Secondary School for the Speech and Hearing Impaired, located in Ramavaram MGR Gardens, Chennai, a school that has been dedicated to providing quality education and support to children with hearing impairments for years.

A dedicated team of storytellers engaged the students with captivating tales told through sign language interpretation. These stories not only entertained but also fostered language development and communication skills among the students.

The event was further enriched by a special screening of a silent movie featuring the legendary Charlie Chaplin. This unique cinematic experience allowed the students to appreciate the power of non-verbal communication and the art of storytelling through gestures and expressions.
