Faridabad<\/strong> (Haryana) [India], May <\/strong>5:<\/strong> Viraj Jain, a middle school student from Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad, has created an original SDG Anthem titled \u201c<\/strong>One World, One Promise<\/strong><\/a>\u201d<\/strong> to promote awareness about sustainability and the role individuals can play in protecting the planet.<\/p>\n

The anthem is based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlights the importance of shared responsibility, awareness, and small everyday actions in building a greener future.<\/p>\n

According to Viraj, the idea emerged from a simple question he had been reflecting on.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat can someone my age truly do for the Earth?\u201d<\/strong> he said.<\/p>\n

Over several months, he wrote the lyrics, developed the composition, and recorded the anthem independently. The song aims to make sustainability more relatable for young audiences and encourage conversations around environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes global challenges feel too big for one person,\u201d Viraj said. \u201cBut if each of us makes small changes in how we live and think, together those small steps can become a powerful movement for the planet.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The anthem is not positioned as a solution, but as an effort to encourage awareness, particularly among students and young people.<\/p>\n

Viraj\u2019s interest in sustainability extends beyond music. He has been involved in student-led discussions and initiatives within his school community, encouraging peers to reflect on habits related to waste, resource use, and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n

He has also written a book for young readers titled \u201cHappy Earth: Stories of a Greener Tomorrow,\u201d<\/strong> which uses storytelling to introduce environmental themes in a simple and relatable manner.<\/p>\n

The SDG Anthem \u201c<\/strong>One World, One Promise<\/strong><\/a>\u201d<\/strong>has been released on his YouTube channel \u201c<\/strong>VirajVibes United<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> where it is accompanied by reflections on the ideas behind the project. The anthem has begun reaching young audiences online, sparking conversations around everyday sustainability.<\/p>\n

The initiative comes at a time when there is increasing focus on youth engagement in sustainability. While large-scale solutions remain central to climate and development discussions, individual awareness and small actions continue to play an important role in building long-term change.<\/p>\n

Viraj believes that young people can contribute meaningfully to this effort.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not too young to make a difference,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are exactly the right age to start.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Viraj, the anthem represents an early step in what he sees as a longer journey of engaging with sustainability through music, writing, and peer interaction, with a focus on encouraging young people to take small but meaningful action.<\/p>\n
